Start a trial, upgrade, or change plan

In this article: How the 30-day trial works, how to move between plans, and what happens when a trial ends.

Applies to Owner only

Plan changes happen on the Subscription screen in the sidebar. Only owners can make them.

Starting a trial

Paid plans come with 30 days free, no card required. Pick the plan and start — everything on that tier switches on immediately.

Careful

One trial per organization, ever. Trial Starter, and you can't later trial Pro. So if you're weighing them up, trial the higher one: you can always come down, and Pro's projects and reports are the features people actually want to test.

When a trial ends

Features on that tier stop until you complete checkout. Nothing is deleted — your contractors, documents and history all stay exactly where they are, and come back the moment you subscribe.

Your subscription stays attached to the plan you trialled, so converting is one checkout rather than choosing all over again. A banner across the app tells you where you stand.

Changing plans

Pick the new plan on the Subscription screen. Upgrades take effect straight away.

Downgrading to a tier whose contractor cap you're over doesn't delete anyone. You keep everybody; you can't add more, and document uploads pause until you're back under the cap or back on a bigger plan. See You've reached your contractor limit.

"Complete checkout"

This appears when a plan was chosen but payment never finished — a trial that ended, or a checkout closed halfway. No plan is granting anything until it's done, so adding contractors is blocked outright rather than falling back to the free tier.

Click through and complete it, and everything resumes.

Note

Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
