What happens when I reach 25 contractors on the Free plan?

Nothing is charged and nothing you already have stops working. Your 25 contractors keep their documents, keep uploading renewals, and keep being checked against the state boards. What you cannot do is add a 26th contractor until you either upgrade or remove one — we would rather block an action you chose to take than put a charge on a card you never entered. There is no card on file on the Free plan, so there is nothing we could charge.

Do my contractors have to pay anything?

No. Contractors are never billed and never asked for payment details. They are not users of your account either — they hold a one-time upload link, which is why there is no seat to pay for.

Are there setup or onboarding fees?

None, and no implementation call to sit through. You add contractors and send your first document requests yourself, in about ten minutes. Bringing a roster over from a spreadsheet in one go is bulk import, which is on Starter; on Free you add contractors as you go.

What does the 30-day trial actually cost me?

Nothing, and it does not ask for a card to start. When the 30 days are up the paid features simply stop until you choose to check out — your documents and contractors stay exactly where they are. Each organisation gets one trial.

Which state databases do you check?

Texas (TDLR), Florida (DBPR), California (CSLB), Washington (L&I), Oregon (BCD), Illinois (IDFPR) and Colorado (DORA), re-checked daily — on every plan, including Free. A licence from any other state is tracked and alerted on in exactly the same way; the daily re-check against the board is the part with a geographic boundary. How licence verification works.

Can I change or cancel my plan later?

Yes, from the billing screen, without emailing anyone. Cancelling drops you back to the Free plan at the end of the period you have paid for. Your contractors and documents are not deleted — if you are over 25 contractors you keep seeing them, you just cannot add more until you are back under the cap.
